Creative Connections meet on the 1st Saturday of every month at 10 AM at the EXCEL building beside McDonalds. Crafters of all kinds, come join others who need a place to spread out, encouragement, or just some time to finish an ongoing project! Participants will bring their own personal projects, necessary tools, and supplies. Clay County Homemaker dues are $12 per year. New members are always welcome!
Cooking Through the Calendar will be on March 10th at 11AM at the Clay County Extension Office. Join us and sample Vegetarian Taco Soup and receive a free recipe calendar. FREE & open to the public! Please call 606-598-2789 to register.
Card Making Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at1PM at the Clay County Extension Office. The Card Club welcomes new members. If you’re not already a Homemaker member, dues are $12 annually.
4-H Art Club will be on March 14th at 4 PM at the Clay County Extension Office. FREE & open to all youth ages 5-18. Please call 598-2789 to register by March 10th.
Pins & Needles Homemaker Club meets the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10 AM at the EXCEL building beside McDonalds. This club always welcomes new members! Bring your materials and join them with your sewing projects. Don't know how to sew, no problem...they will teach you! If you’re not already a homemaker member, dues are $12 annually. Participate in the Thank a Farmer – Visual Letter Contest. Creatively express your gratitude for Kentucky farmers with art of your choice! Entries, DUE MONDAY, MARCH 20TH, will be uploaded to the Kentucky 4-H Facebook page where followers can vote for their favorite artwork. Giftcards from the UK Bookstore will be given to winners in each category: Cloverbud (ages 5-8), Junior (ages 9-13) and Senior (ages 14-18). Questions can be directed to Jennifer Tackett, 4-J Extension Specialist, at Jennifer.tackett@uky.edu.
Laugh and Learn will be March 21st at 2PM at the Clay County Extension Office. This is a kindergarten-readiness program to help prepare your little ones for the beginning of their school experience. Bring them and yourself and we will have some fun activities, as well as a story to read. FREE & open to the public. Call 598-2789 to register.
Clay County Beekeepers Association will meet on March 23rd at 6PM at the EXCEL building.
With Spring just around the corner, it’s important to remember our health. Join us for an educational lesson presented by Tammy Pennington of the Clay County Health Department and a recipe demonstration by FCS Agent, Emily Boggs. Staying Healthy in the Spring with Diabetes will be on March 23rd at 1PM at the Clay County Extension Office. FREE and open to the public. Call 598-2789 to register.

4-H Paint Day will be on Tuesday, April 4th at 4 PM at EXCEL. Come join us and paint your very own canvas. This is a kid-friendly paint day and parents/guardians are encouraged to paint with their kid(s). this is a great opportunity to explore a new hobby & enjoy family bonding time. Kenna Spears will be teaching the painting class for us. Sponsored by: Clay County Extension Office and the Clay County Family Resource Centers. Green Cleaning will be on April 20th at 4PM at the Clay County Extension Office. Spring is almost here and all of us are feeling the weather warming up, so it’s time for some spring cleaning! Jon us to learn about making your own environmentally friendly cleaning materials and take home some recipes. This is FREE & open to the public. Please call 598-2789 to sign up.
Celebrate Earth Day by participating in the 4-H Poster Contest. Posters must be mailed or dropped off at the Clay County Extension at 69 Jameson Rd, Manchester, KY 40962. Posters are DUE BY APRIL 20TH. Divisions: Cloverbud (ages 5-8), Junior (ages 8-13) and Senior (ages 14-18). General rules: Posters can be completed on an 8.5x11, plain sheet of paper. Participants are encouraged to create a theme related to Earth Day including wildlife, forests, water, etc.. Posters must be handwritten/drawn. Make sure nothing on post is copy-righted.
4-H Communications Day Contest will be on April 24th at 9 AM at the Red Bird Christian School. Registration is due by April 17th. Junior Speeches: 3-5 minutes (ages 9-13). Senior Speeches: 5-7 minutes (ages 14-18). Junior & Senior Demonstrations: 5-15 minutes. For more details and to receive a packet of categories, rules and registration form, please call the Clay County Extension Office at 598-2789.

Lunch and Learn: Pathways to Wellness will be on April 26th at 12PM at the Clay County Extension Office. This is the first lesson in a four-part series. Please mark these other dates: May 3rd, May 18th and May 25th. If you’re interested in the health of our community, how it affects us on an individual level, and learning more about it, please join us for lunch while we learn! Food will be provided at this program for free and is open to the public! Please call 598-2789 to sign up.
