  • Attention!!! We are starting a new Homemaker Recipe Club. If you love cooking and trying new recipes, this club is for you! We will not meet in person, all you have to do is call to be added to our list! Once we have your contact information, you will receive 3 new recipes each month in the mail! We encourage you to try these at home with your family, take pictures and let us know what you think! If you are not already a paid Homemaker, dues are $12.00 annually. Call 598-2789 for more information.
  • AG TAG: Make an impact in Kentucky agriculture by donating to the “Ag Tag” fund! Now is the time to renew your Ag Tag and support Kentucky agriculture! When renewing or purchasing your farm license plate this spring, you have the opportunity to make a $10 donation. The total is divided equally among Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA). Visit drive.ky.gov for more info!
  • Join us and our special guest, FCS Agent Kelsee Dewees for Savor the Flavor, Cooking with Oils & Vinegars. We will be having 2 classes, March 11th & April 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. Call 598-2789 to register!
  • Join us for another painting opportunity for the entire family! 4-H Paint Day will be on March11th at 4:00 pm at the Clay County EXCEL Building. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to paint with their child. This event is free and open to kids 5-18 years of age. You must call 598-2789 to register.
  • Join us for our next Clay County Cattlemen’s Association Meeting on March 12th at 6:00 p.m. at the EXCEL building. Please call 598-2789 to register to ensure we have an accurate head count for food.
  • Would you like to learn how to make beautiful greeting cards? Join our Homemaker Card Making Club! We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. We always welcome new members. If you’re not already a Homemaker member, dues are $12 annually. Our next meeting will be March 12th!
  • There will be a WTA Beef Series course on March 14th at 6:00 pm at the WTA Beef Marketing Alliance, 3610 Slate Lick Church Rd, London, KY 40741. Topics: Grading & Marketing Feeder Calves/Predator Control. Presenters for this course will be Stacy White, ANR agent from Whitley County, discussing predator control & Glenn Williams, ANR agent from Laurel County, discussing grading and marketing feeder calves. A free meal will be served. This course does qualify for CAIP Educational Requirement. Please register by calling 598-2789.
  • Join us for the Importance of Pollinators on March 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. This month's topic will be Planting & Preparing the Pollinator Garden! We will be having a potluck dinner so bring your favorite dish!
  • The Pins & Needles Homemaker Club meets the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10:00 a.m. at the EXCEL building beside McDonalds. This club always welcomes new members! Bring your materials and join them with your sewing projects. Don’t know how to sew, no problem...they will teach you! If you’re not already a homemaker member, dues are $12 annually. Call 598-2789 for more information.  Our next meeting will be March 15-17!
  • Do you love being creative or looking to make new friends? The 4-H Art Club will meet on March 19th at the Clay County Extension Office. You must call 598-2789 to register. This program is free and open to ages 9-18.
  • There will be a Clay County Beekeepers Meeting on March 28th at 6:00 pm at the EXCEL Building.
  • There will be an Area Corn Production Meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Laurel County Extension Office. Registration is required, please call 598-2789. Dr. Chad Lee, Director of Grain and Forage Center of Excellence, Extension Professor and Dr. Jonathan Green, Extension Professor, Weed Science Program will be presenting at this year's Area Corn Production Meeting. Topics will include corn varieties and weed control.
  • Graftage is the joining of a scion (bud or shoot) of the desired fruit tree cultivar to a plant with an established root system (rootstock). Knowledge of graftage is necessary for nurserymen and fruit tree producers. It is also a great hobby for backyard gardeners. Join us at the Laurel County Extension Office on Thursday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. for this hands-on workshop. Our guest presenter, Stacy White, Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Whitley County, will demonstrate the best procedures for completing a successful graft. Then at 1:00 p.m. we will learn the proper techniques for pruning fruit trees to prevent disease and encourage growth. This demonstration will be conducted by Glenn Williams and Stacy White, Extension Agents for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Please call 598-2789 to register!
  • 4H Summit - If you are attending this year’s event, please mark your calendars for March 21st-23rd! This event will take place at Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp Center. Transportation arrangements will be sent in the mail.
  • Do you enjoy baking or want to learn more about cooking? The 4-H Cooking Club will meet on March 25th at 4:00 p.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. Join us as we learn kitchen tips and safety and create delicious dishes! Limited spots are available, and you must call to register. FREE but you must be 9-18 years of age to participate.
  • Join us for 4-H Homeschool Club on March 26th at 1:00 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. We will cover a variety of topics! You must be homeschooled to participate. Open to ages 9-18, and you must call 598-2789 to register.
  • 4H Communication Day will be April 30th 
  • Mark your calendars for 4-H Summer Camp July 30th-August 2nd. Join us for a few days of activities, programs and much more. You must have completed 3rd grade, or you must be 9-14 years of age to attend camp as a camper. Ages 15-18 can serve as counselors in training or teen counselors at camp! This is a great opportunity to receive community service hours! Applications will be available March 25th! You can receive an application on our website or pick-up at the Clay County Extension Office. If you attended camp last year, you will be receiving an application in the mail!
