Family and Consumer Sciences: The goal of the Family & Consumer Sciences Program is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families.  We address the challenges of critical issues affecting people's daily lives in a changing environment.  Programs focus on economic, social and physical well-being of our clients.  We strengthen personal and family relationships, encourage healthful choices, and identify resources to extend income.

We can also check your pressure canner dial gauge for FREE.  Just stop by the office.

PROGRAMS


Creating Memories – Enjoying the Holidays with Family & Friends will be December 6th, December 17th and December 18th at the Extension Office.  The traditions your family hold dear can start at any time.  Traditions can be cooking, crafting, painting or just spending time together.  You can attend all of these or one or two.  These programs are free and open to the public but you must call 598-2789 to register so we will have enough supplies.  Classes are limited.  Flyer is enclosed. ●Painting A Snowman on 8 in. x 10 in. canvas –  December 6th at 10 am

●Snowman in a Pot – December 6th at 1 pm

●Sea Shell Santa – December 6th at 3 pm

●Cookies for the Holidays—December 17th at  6 pm

●Coffee Ground Ornaments – December 18th at 10 am

●Christmas Tree Ornament—December 18th at 1 pm 

           


Wool Rug Hooking - Come learn traditional wool rug hooking basics. Cost is $20. This includes hook, wool, foundation fabric and backing in a kit to make a mug rug size project. All other supplies will be furnished to learn the traditional heritage skill of wool hooking. Class will be on Monday, December 10th at 10:30 am at the Clay County Extension Office.  Call 598-2789 and register.  Pay the $20 fee to reserve your space, by Wednesday, December 5th.


Reading in a Winter WonderlandDecember 11th from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the EXCEL Building.  This program is FRREE and open to the public.    FLYER


No Party Tea Party is sponsored by the Clay County Homemakers.  You receive a teacup, tea bag and a muffin in a gift box.  They can be picked up on December 14th at the Clay County Extension Office.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any Clay County Homemaker or at the Clay County Extension Office.  Half of all proceeds will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund & the other half will be donated to the Clay County Homemakers.  For more information, call 598-2789.  FLYER


Strong Woman, Healthy Woman—What can you do to increase your ability to stay strong and healthy?  Attend these three sessions to learn about the possibilities.  You can attend all three or just one.  Those that attend all three will receive a small gift.  The series are:  Stay Happy, Stay Healthy on January 14, 2019 at 6:00 pmTaking Care of Your Heart on January 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm and Let’s Get Moving on January 28, 2019 at 6:30 pm.
